Neil Bates, Basingstoke instructor

Andrea visits regularly in England to ring bells and visit with friends in Basingstoke. She is available for get-togethers in April and November. See the  facebook group for Basingstoke.

Hosted by Northern Gate Internal Arts, Basingstoke, Neil Bates

Location: Farmyard at Becket Court. Go out the Worting road until you go under the rail bridge, continue through at Roman Way at the small roundabout (T intersection), then turn left into the parking lot (the OLD farm market, not the present farm market further along on the right).

Neil runs regular classes during the year on Saturdays, 9:30 to 11:00, in his back courtyard at Becket Court, on the Worting Road. Check with Neil before going.

Next seminar time: November 2019.

Local coach: Neil Bates. Neil has a solid background in Yiquan and Xingyi. He was introduced to Ma Gui bagua in 2005, and it interested him enough to start bringing me to Basingstoke twice a year regularly since 2008. When I am there for a seminar I stay for a couple of weeks and teach him daily, so he has advanced quickly. He is a highly skilled history teacher, and this ability carries over to his bagua teaching. His group trains outside rain or shine.

In Medicine Hat hosted by Medicine Hat Baguazhang Training Group.

I will ask you to come to Winnipeg if you want to train with me. Classes in Winnipeg are 6:00 to 8:00 pm every evening, so there is lots of time for private sessions during the days.

Nathen Marschel 2016

Nathen Marschel

Nathen Marschel has taken up the reins of the bagua teaching. Nathen has been training since Robert started me going to Medicine Hat in 2008, and has always acted as 'the memory' of the group. Nathen was the youngest person I ever taught properly, starting at 14, though now he is an adult. In addition to teaching baguazhang, he is one of my special people who hopefully will learn all my internal styles, even my secret lineage that I don’t teach.
