Sunday Xingyi: Aligning Form and Intent

Assertive, economical & direct, Xingyi is the most linear of the internal styles. It is built on the theory of five phases & is practical in its training approach. “Rise like a sweeping wind, strike like raining arrows” with the translator of, “Di Gouyong on Xingyiquan” one of the best Chinese to English translations published in Chinese martial arts. Location: 340 Edinburgh Rd. North, Guelph.

Seminar and class contact: Email James, Hosted by Stone Lantern Internal Arts, James Saper.

Coach: James Saper. James trained with me in Victoria during the 1990s and has continued to train hard and learn since then. He is the closest I have to an inside apprentice, training my Shanghai Chen taiji, taijichangquan, xingyi, and bagua. He is a Chinese Traditional Medicine practitioner, and brings this depth of knowledge to his martial arts practice.

Those wishing to do only circle-walking are welcome to come to the first hour on Saturday morning. Private classes are often possible on the Friday afternoon or Monday morning around the seminar weekend.

Regular practice sessions are with James Saper. Website:  Stone Lantern Internal Arts. 42 Quebec street, Guelph.

Website organized and written by Andrea Falk, interpreting the teaching of Li Baohua. The website of the international association is www.maguibagua.com.
