Bengshou Drills, Setting stake
1. In a mabu feeling stance, do repeat bengshou on the same side hand. You need to get power from the body core, with just a bit of spring from the legs, as you can’t use stepping to find power. Be sure to not just snap out the arm. This trains for a very strong wrist strike, so the power is heavy.
When doing bengshou, hook and swing the rear hand to the back, to balance the power and get the feeling of spreading wings. Or lower the hand to the hip, as long as you balance the power.

2. In a mabu feeling stance, alternate bengshou left and right, striking to the front. You need to get power from the body core, with just a bit of spring from the legs, as you can’t use stepping to find power.

Bengshou Drills, Moving
1. Inside triangle stepping to bengshou. Alternate left and right foot forward, bring the front foot back and out, setting it and stepping the other foot forward. Bring the hand through to bengshou in an aligned mabu feeling stance. Balance the power with the rear hand.
