3.6 Single Hook Golden Rooster Fights A Monkey

單勾金雞猴相式 dan gou jin ji hou xiang shi

The Rooster Fights trains the same concepts as the dragon Grinding Body Change, though again, more like a bird or snake than a dragon.

Description: Starting in single hook form with the left hand into the circle.

Action One: Koubu the right foot.

Action Two: Baibu the left foot and coil the left arm.

Action Three: Step the right foot through and extend the lion form away from the centre, right hand at shoulder height and left hand above.

Action Four: Baibu the left foot to an open mabu, torso facing in to the circle centre. Zazhang (pound) with pressure down in both arms, but emphasis on the forward, left arm. Leave the right arm out. Both hands are open and palm up, applying pressure down.

Action Five: Step the right foot through to gaizhang with the right hand, a bit away from the circle to facilitate continuing on in the same direction. Keep the gaizhang low, as if stabbing a deerhorn knife point behind the collar bone.

Action Six: Bring the left hand over the right forearm. Baibu the left foot around the circle line, sweeping the left arm around. Change to single hook form, the right hand initially along the circle line, then gradually turning to point into the circle centre for walking.
