獅子抱球 shi zi bao qiu
The Lion Holds the Ball change trains lion attacks, lion style tanzhang, and lion style chuanzhang.

Description: Starting in lion form with the left hand into the circle.
Action One: Right foot koubu, keeping the lion shape through the arms.

Action Two: Left baibu to the circle line. Roll the body, keeping the arms in the same position relative to each other as if rolling a large ball, to change sides directly. Keep the arms connected through the upper back and use power from the lower back.

Variation
The first lion change is done quite naturally. There is a variation that is the same basic actions, but done in low basin. Put your weight firmly on the koubu leg and fully squat, extending the other leg into a drop stance. Keep the holding ball shape of the arms, and perform the same action as the standard change. Step forward and move smoothly through to the lion form on the other side. Keep upright, do not lean forward to seem to be going lower in your stance. Just do the lowest stance that you can control and be comfortable in.
