獅子大滾球 shi zi da gun qiu
The eighth lion change is also a shun change, using the straight lines to go around the circle. It is a cumulative change, starting the same as the seventh change and adding the three rollings of the fourth change. You can see that the lion changes gradually add and add until you get to the eighth change. Again, be sure to step, not pivot, and stop in between the three big turnings. It also finishes already changed sides.

Description: Starting in lion form with the left arm to the inside.
Action One: Take a small step to the outside with the outside (right) foot and open the arms, pressing down with the arm (right yazhang) on the outside.
Action Two: Step the left foot through to a left gaizhang, back around away from the circle line. Pull in a bit with the right hand.

Action Three: Sit firmly on the left leg and right baibu to mabu on the circle line with a lion right liaozhang.

Action Four: Step through, going straight along on the tangent to the circle, rolling a small ball through underneath for a lion chuanzhang. Step and roll first left, then right, then left again. That is, step the left foot and roll the left hand (inside leg and arm) under with a chuanzhang, then step the right foot and roll the right hand (outside leg and arm) under with a chuazhang, then step the left foot and roll the left hand (inside leg and arm) under with a chuanzhang. (Note that this is three chuanzhang underneath, going straight.)

Action Five: Small koubu with the right foot and cross the arms as you turn to face the circle centre. Baibu and extend the arms fully – right high and left low. This is the same ball throwing move of the third change, but arrived at in a different way. Be sure to cross the arms, not roll.

Action Six: Step the left foot through to the outside in the lion form, left chuanzhang underneath.
Action Seven: Turn on the spot, bringing the lion form to face the centre with the right hand in.

Action Eight: Lift the right knee. Baibu step across the right foot on the circle line and roll the ball quite flat. Koubu the left foot on the circle line, turning around to face the circle centre, rolling the arms over to finish with the right arm in. You can get going very fast in this turning, so be sure to turn by stepping, not spinning. And alway stop solid in between the three turning ball rollings.

Action Nine: Repeat Action eight, going around the circle. Be sure to step, not spin. And stop. Use the upper arm to turn the horizontal turning force to a vertical force in order to stop instantly.

Action Ten: Repeat Action eight, going around the circle. Again, step and stop. Turn on the spot, bringing the lion form to face the centre with the right hand in. You have changed sides, and are ready to circle-walk in lion form.

Variation
Similar to the sixth lion change, you may open out in lion form, still holding a very large ball, instead of pressing down into the gaizhang.
